About the Artist

Born and raised in Lawrence, Kansas, Connor Dyer attended the University of Kansas and received a BFA in metalsmithing and jewelry and a minor in art history. Following graduation, Dyer earned an MFA in metalsmithing and jewelry and MA in art education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, Dyer is focused on the exploration of fandoms and popular culture through the creation and photography of cosplay-based masks and hoods. Her work has been featured in exhibitions such as STITCH: Contemporary Textile Art in Morehead, Ky, Needles and Thread in Ellensburg, WA, Fun House 2018: Art of Surreal, Fantastic and Bizarre in Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie, New York and FIERCE and FRAIL: Of Beings, Beasts, and Seed in Verum Ultimum Art, Portland, OR. She won the choice award in the Art at the Center-Human Experience Abstracts exhibition and an honorary mention in the 46th Annual Smoky Hill art exhibition.
