About the Item
"Memphis Blues" Flower Pin
This piece was inspired by Harriete's visit to Memphis in 2004 as a Master Metalsmith at the Metal Museum. "Memphis Blues" is from a series of pins made from post-consumer recycled tin cans diverted from a destiny in the landfill. These classic flower pins are inspired by 'April Flowers,' Earth Day, and National Recycling Month (April). Think stylish environmental awareness with these colorful inspirations of nature.

About the Artist
Harriete Estel Berman uses post-consumer, recycled materials to construct artwork ranging from jewelry and teacups to large sculpture of social commentary.
Constructed from recycled tin containers or plastic trash, the materials contribute important content. The materials are not as precious as gold or silver but in many ways reflect more accurately the values of our society.
