About the Item
Pattern-welded steel pendant featuring two flags. The pendant was created from leftover materials from a project the artist completed. The 1991 project was for former Illinois Governor Jim Thompson, who commissioned Daryl to make a bowing knife for then president George H. W. Bush. Included in the item images is the knife that was completed, as well as a photo of Daryl with the Governor and the President.

About the Artist
Daryl Meier has been making pattern welded steel for more than 25 years. He creates knives, swords, tomahawks, bowls, wedding rings, belt buckles, and more. He is drawn to the piece's performance, but also to its beauty, character, and mystique the materials have.
