About the Item
The stone on this item was salvaged from a building on Front Street in Memphis, Tennessee. The iron came from the structural skeleton of Ellis Auditorium, also in Memphis.

About the Artist
Richard Carr is an inspired craftsman with over forty years in an industrial setting. His love of old architecture and organic forms can be seen in his work. He likes to use salvaged material in his work. The renewal of downtown Memphis has allowed him to salvage stone, iron, and wood. These aged and textured materials are the backbone of his work.
