Liven up your outfit this this bright and imaginative collection of avant-garde vintage jewelry. Includes two 16" bolos with layered plastic designs, a 3.5" rectangular pocket pin signed Goldey Schwan Chicago, a 3" x 2.25" Mardis Gras mask pin from the 80's signed by artist P. Hempe, and a 1.5" little "Big Apple" pin.
In 1980, the Memphis Group, also known as Memphis Milano, was founded by Ettore Sottsass with a group of 22 other designers and architects from Milan, Italy.
The Memphis Design Group went on to create and inspire furniture, fabrics, patterns, jewelry, ceramics and other products in a distinctly postmodern style that blended stylistic traits of 1950s kitsch, Art Deco, and Pop Art.
In 1987, Memphis fell out of fashion, but is now coming back into vogue nearly 40 years later. These iconic jewelry pieces are a must for any serious jewelry and design collector!
