It takes two years, thousands of hours, and tens of thousands of dollars to raise and train each guide dog. All Fidelco guide dogs are provided at no cost to clients, thanks to generous support from donors like you.

Gert has a very special name, she's the one and only and is the 15th puppy we are raising and we named her in honor of the sweet, kind and caring lady named Gert that was part of the Fidelco family for more than 20 years and worked in the pup house until she retired. Puppy Gert is just as sweet. We call her our little 'peanut' because she is a lot smaller than some of the males we raised although her energy level is just as high. She loves to play ball and is a much better shortstop than an outfielder, very quick on her feet.

Lexus was a retired breed dog, had 4 litters and 33 puppies. She was our loyal companion and best friend for 12 years who touched so many human and puppy lives. Lexus was a very stable and well-balanced dog and the best teacher around. She would bring confidence out in timid puppies and tover the top attitudes out of other puppies.
