The Link Up program doesn't work without recorders! In a typical season this program reaches approximately 1,300 elementary school students. Your donation helps to fulfill our promise to provide a brand-new recorder to each 4th grader in Stamford Public Schools.

A program of Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute, Link Up features a highly participatory curriculum that introduces students to the orchestra, symphonic repertoire, and musical concepts such as rhythm, tempo, and dynamics. Our program culminates in a live, interactive performance at Westhill High School with Stamford Symphony musicians. For many students in Stamford, this is their first concert experience and serves as a fun and engaging entry point to classical music. Stamford Symphony has partnered with Stamford Public Schools to produce Link Up since 2014. This year, we are doing the Orchestra Swings program, which explores the elements that contribute to that magical moment when the orchestra starts to swing"
