Sara Mraish Demeter, an artist, educator, arts advocate, and philanthropist, was born to a Palestinian family. Sara grew up in Jordan and moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1990 to pursue her education. A decade ago, she founded Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK), a local nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting children with the Arts with Impact framework integrated with school curriculum to democratize education in order to support children in under-resourced communities in Boston and beyond to realize their full potential and become socially conscious individuals. Sara has worked internationally as well, providing art workshops as a healing tool to Syrian and Palestinian refugee children in Jordan. Sara has built partnerships with many organizations, facilitated and organized public art murals and installations, and most recently, participated in The Underline mural project in Jordan, to highlight often-unheard voices. The final project involved opening a dialogue about censorship. Sara was selected as an Extraordinary Women Award recipient by Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and is currently working on her memoir.
