Donna Horn is primarily an oil painter working in abstract imagery, often derived from landscape and the natural world Her work is intuitive and process driven. She layers paint, scraping it back then repainting, while balancing gestural marks with larger shapes. Allusions to connections or pathways can often be seen. Drawing, mark-making, and experimenting with materials and techniques are additional means of artistic expression. For her, painting is a manifestation of life's struggle to attain satisfaction while accepting its limitations.

After transitioning out of the corporate world, Donna earned a BFA from Georgia State University. She participated for two years in the Fine Arts Atelier of New York painter Michael David. Her work has been shown at Bill Lowe, Swan Coach, Spruill and IDEA galleries. While an active member of the Women's Caucus for Art, Georgia chapter, she exhibited in their juried and annual member shows. She also served for many years on their Executive Board. In 2013, Donna was honored to receive a two week residency at the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts & Sciences in Rabin Gap, Ga.

Growing up in suburban Philadelphia, she never anticipated spending most of her life in the South, but now considers Atlanta home. She maintains a studio at Little Tree in Avondale Estates, GA.
