Arboretum Woodworkers Cutting Board
This cutting board is made from 100% recycled Arboretum wood (either the trees died, fell, or taken down for some other reason by Arb staff.) The following woods were used for the cutting board and yours may have all or most of these in them: black walnut, black cherry, white oak, American elm, and sugar maple.
Use & Care: This board has been oiled with food-grade mineral oil and then rubbed with a butcherblock conditioner which is also food safe. All the woods are hard deciduous woods so please use it like you would any wood cutting boards. Clean with warm soapy water. Do not put it in the dishwasher. Every few uses, rub in food-grade mineral oil to keep the board in great shape. Note: If after a number of uses and washings the grain raises slightly, you can sand the surfaces with 320 or 400 grit sandpaper, clean off with a clean cloth, and re-oil with food-grade mineral oil. This will keep your board in tip-top shape.
