This set of two 8" x 12" prints features one of America's most recognized (and sadly, threatened) butterflies, the Monarch, and a pollinator native to Colorado, the Metallic Green Sweat Bee. Both of these insects are important to the ecosystem, but they also enrich our world as they flit and zoom like works of art on the wing. Look closely at flowers like this purple aster to see the gem-like flash of the tiny sweat bee. Monarchs can be seen visiting wildflowers like this Blazingstar as well as the Milkweed that is the sole nursery of the species.

About Mandy
Before a fall left her a C6/C7 quadriplegic, Mandy's passion was exploring the woods near her home with a camera and trusty macro lens in hand. Her specialty - insect photography - became an obsession once she knew the intricate, often delicate, ecosystems that exist on such a small-scale that most people will never see them.

Three months post-injury, Mandy transferred to Craig for rehab and learned to think beyond the physical outcome of paralysis and find new ways of doing what she loves.

Mandy is proud to take part in a fundraiser benefiting Craig Hospital, and does so with gratitude and love for the people there who comforted, cared for, and instructed her, and continue to do so 7 years later.
