Five bottles of wine: two bottles of the 1994 Opus Cabernet Sauvignon, two bottles of 2004 Château Les Forts de Latour, and one bottle of 2005 Château Pavie-Decesse. The 1994 vintage in Napa produced wines of extraordinary concentration, depth and balance-the best vintage of the decade. The partnership of Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild created the Opus winery, with a goal to make an American red wine similar to the grand cru wines of Bordeaux. This 1994 Opus is now reaching maturity, a powerful wine that will continue to improve for decades. The 2004 Château Les Fortes de Latour is a huge wine, lush on the palate, with a gorgeous finish. The 2005 Château Pavie-Decesse has "an irresistible bouquet of blueberry, vanilla and violets, great depth and a sensual and powerful finish." The winner of this lot will have a chance to compare some of the best French wines with Opus-decide for yourself if Mondavi and the Baron succeeded!
