Based on the Soochow Astronomical Chart of 1193, this planisphere depicts the Chinese night sky as seen from the northern hemisphere. To view the stars, turn the disc to align the desired date with the hour of night. Face south and hold the planisphere overhead with the corner marked North facing north. The map will reveal a celestial poem that awaits you among the asterisms. Let the eyes wanter and read aloud to someone dear.

Monica Ong is a visual poet and the author of Silent Anatomies (2015), selected by Joy Harjo as winner of the Kore Press First Book Award in poetry. A Kundiman poetry fellow and MFA graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Ong innovates on text+image to surface hidden narratives of women and diaspora, blurring the boundaries of art and literature. Bishakh is an Indian-American trans femme visual artist. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, We're Still Here (The first all-trans comics anthology), Beyond, vol. 2, The Strumpet, The Boston Review, Black Warrior Review, VICE, The Brooklyn Rail, Buzzfeed, Ink Brick, The Huffington Post, The Graphic Canon vol. 3 and Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream. She received the Xeric grant in 2003 for her comics collection Angel. Her graphic novel Apsara Engine (The Feminist Press) is the winner of a 2021 L.A. Times Book Prize for Best Graphic Novel and a 2021 Lambda Literary Award winner for Best LGBTQ Comics. Her graphic memoir Spellbound (Street Noise Books) was also a 2021 Lambda Literary Award finalist.

Bishakh has illustrated two books about architecture: The Prefab Bathroom: An Architectural History, (McFarland Press) and Cocktails and Conversations: Dialogues on Architectural Design (AIA New York).

Bishakh's artwork was featured in solo shows at ArtLexis Gallery and at Jaya Yoga Center and in group shows at The Society of Illustrators in New York, the Bannister Gallery at Rhode Island College, Issyra Gallery, the Grady Alexis Gallery, De Cacaofabriek in the Netherlands and most recently at Art Omi in Ghent, NY.

Emily B Yang is an Asian-American artist and speculative designer. In her printmaking and ceramic work she explores the question: "What is Asian American Art?" What makes art "Asian," "American," or both? Who cares? And who decides?

She is currently exhibited at the "Beyond Asian Silence" show at Yale University's School of Architecture and is an adjunct professor at the Parsons School of Design.

"'Rural Virginia' is part of my series titled 'An Inventory of Traces,' where each gradient is a vignette of an experience, place, or person. Colors beneath the surface of the painting are exposed through incisions. I was reflecting on a time where I experienced an abundance of artistic freedom, growth, and connection with other creative people. The colors in this painting are from photos I took at the artist residency, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA in July 2019, the last summer before the pandemic reshaped everyone's lives."-Roberto Jamora

Roberto Jamora is an artist and educator based in Richmond, VA. He holds an MFA from the State University of New York at Purchase and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is an Assistant Professor of Art Foundations at VCU School of the Arts and a Lecturer at William & Mary in the Asian & Pacific Islander American Studies program. He is the Asian Centennial Distinguished Fine Arts Fellow in Residence at William & Mary as well.

Roberto is working on a series of abstract paintings titled "An Inventory of Traces" which explores how color triggers memory.

He has participated in Artist-in-Residence programs at the Hambidge Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Joan Mitchell Center, Ragdale Foundation, and Sambalikhaan Foundation. He will be a Fellow at VCCA-France, Moulin à Nef (Auvillar, FR) in Summer 2022.

His artwork has been exhibited at spaces including the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Contemporary Art Center of New Orleans, SFA Projects, Maake Projects, Antenna, FLXST Contemporary, Page Bond Gallery, ADA Gallery, Topaz Arts, Norte Maar, and Shockoe Artspace.

His artwork is in collections including the Atlanta Hawks NBA Team, Capital One, Harvard Kennedy School, Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary, and several private collections throughout North America, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom.
