Initial East Asian medical consultation and treatment, and one follow-up treatment. The first session will be 90 minutes with a thorough assessment, evaluation and acupuncture treatment. The follow-up appointment is included because it gives the individual the opportunity to ask questions and discuss what changes they felt after the first treatment. The follow up will be 75 minutes and include a second acupuncture treatment with any appropriate additional modalities, such as Kyojung, cupping, guasha, and medical qigong. The follow up is suggested to be scheduled within 2 weeks of the initial session.
Ailin Kojima is a general practitioner of East Asian medicine, encompassing acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, medical qigong, Kyojung (Korean physical medicine) and Eastern nutrition. She has been practicing since 2007 and continues to study with masters and specialists locally and abroad. She finds that the more she learns, the more she realizes there remains to learn, from modern research, classical writings and even from her clients. She focuses on getting to know and treating each individual, drawing from her years of experience and utilizing different techniques as necessary. She enjoys educating her clients about their health with the East Asian medical perspective, while drawing parallels to Western biomedicine. She realizes that lifestyle adjustments need to be manageable, and openly discussed to fully help her clients feel able to keep their health on track.
She recently has particular interest in mental health, pain conditions and digestive disorders. Since the start of the pandemic, mental-emotional, spiritual, and physical health has become more challenging for many of us to maintain. Stresses are high as everyone is adapting to the unpredictable future, and our bodies can become deeply exhausted. East Asian medicine can help to calm the central nervous system, replenish the adrenals, and re-regulate an imbalanced system to relieve symptoms such as anxiety and excessive worry, insomnia, digestive upset, brain fog, fatigue, and pain, to name a few. There is much more that can be treated, as well as providing stress relief and general wellness.
