The dam of this mating was selected by Stevens Land & Cattle, Carmen OK from the 2017 Pollard Sale.
The grand-dam of this mating, EXAR Rita U049, was the $62,000 ½ interest selection of Pollard Farms from the 2012 EXAR Big Event Sale. In that same event, U049 produced the Kiamichi Link Ranch selection, EXAR Rita 2815 and the $30,000 EXAR Rita 1766 selected by Bob Ballew
Lot 1 in the 2016 Pollard Sale, a maternal sister to the dam of this mating, was the $35,000 ½ interest selection of Black Gold.
In the 2015 Express Ranches Big Event, EXAR Rita 6131, a maternal sister to the dam of lots 10 thru 13 by Consensus, sold for $112,500 to Deer Valley Ranch while three more sisters to the dam of this mating sold for $50,000 to Edisto Pines Farm, LLC; $30,000 to Riverbend Ranch; and $22,500 to Audley Farm.

In the March 2015 Express bull sale, EXAR Hi-Tech, a maternal brother to the dam of this mating, sold for $28,000 as one of the most popular bulls of the day with another full brother selling for $15,000.
4141 traces to the Express HD50K cornerstone donor New Design 1200, who sold half interest for $160,000 and is a daughter of the Angus breed's all-time top income producing cow with the famous and valuable maternal siblings to this female produced at Express including the $171,000 top-selling female of the 2006 Big Event whose flush brother, EXAR Rito 5118 of Rito 1I2 sold half interest for $96,000 to top the 2006 Express Fall Bull Sale and become a resident herd sire at Pollard Farms.
The sire of this mating is the Number 7 sire of progeny registered by the American Angus Association during their 2017 fiscal year, Journey has been among the most widely-used sires at ORIgen during the past two years.
