0Cutleaf Coneflower (Rudbeckia laciniata)
The Cutleaf or Green-Headed Coneflower featuring flowers with yellow petals and a green center. It grows 3' to 4' high and blooms from July through September. The flowers are a favorite of goldfinches, attract butterflies, and serves as a host for the Silvery Checkerspot butterfly. The Cutleaf Coneflower was cooked and eaten in the spring by Native Americans for "good health." The young stems of this pant can also be eaten like celery and dried for later use.
