Meadow Phlox (Phlox maculata)

Meadow Phlox, also known as Spotted Phlox, has beautiful bright clusters of fragrant flowers in summer. It is attractive to butterflies, birds, and hummingbirds and makes an excellent fresh cut flower. Phlox tends to be a favorite food of deer. Varieties were among the first native wildflowers in America to be collected by European explorers and exported back to Europe and were particularly popular in Victorian England.
