DouDou in wax is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic creations of Myriam Maxo. This object is the very embodiment of her main leimotif: transcending borders. An enchanted piece for toddlers, a childhood memory for older children and a design object for adults, the teddy bear speaks to all generations and all sensibilities. Made of wax fabric, its vision invites travel and curiosity. It creates a true cultural bridge.

Myriam Maxo, an artist-designer, studied at the University of the Arts in London. Her energy and inspiration come from her travels around the world throughout Africa, Asia, America and the West Indies. She was born in Sarcelles, a suburb of Paris, France where she grew to be and extraordinary interior designer.

Creator of the Doudou en Wax or DD (African Prints Teddy Bears), her talent has seduced such celebrities as the Obama family, Beyonce, Solange, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Janelle Monae, Nneka, Ayo and more.

The wax material, Dutch fabric inspired by African Prints, which is omnipresent and commonly used for clothing in Africa, is the material her creative soul has chosen. Maxo has said that it expresses her inner self and gives tribute to her roots, combining originality and modernity.
