Grab a friend and help make a traditional batch of one of the world's legendary fermented foods! Ingredients are provided: you can choose between napa cabbage (baechu kimchi) and Korean radish (kkakdugi) as the main ingredient. We will perform the first (salting) step of one batch and the second (finishing) step of a pre-salted batch. It should take about two hours. Will be held in Jinouk's kitchen in Quakertown if participants are vaccinated for Covid, or outdoors (and masked) on the back deck if not. Day and time can be arraigned in advance (weekdays during school hours or weekends are preferred. Both participants can take home a two-liter container of fresh kimchi to ferment at home. Winning bidder please request contact info from the school. PLEASE NOTE: Kimchi is not a vegetarian food and contains seafood products. It should not be consumed by those with seafood or sesame allergies (and especially shellfish and shrimp).
