Accommodations at Abbotsford, the extraordinary home of Sir Walter Scott - perfect for families or groups of jet-setting couples!

Just a short train ride from Edinburgh, Abbotsford is the extraordinary home of Sir Walter Scott, the 19th-century novelist who popularized tartan, saved the Scottish banknote, and rediscovered his country's Crown Jewels.

On offer is three nights' accommodation in the Hope Scott Wing, once home to Sir Walter Scott's granddaughter, Charlotte Hope Scott. The Hope Scott Wing retains the intimacy and integrity of a family home, while introducing all the essentials of modern-day comfort in its seven luxury en-suite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 16 guests, as well as kitchen, dining room, drawing room, library, and billiard room. Guests can relax in a unique combination of the personal and the historical in this intimate country retreat, which still retains many of its original features, as well as Scott family belongings, including original artworks and furniture.

Also included is a guided visit to the National Trust for Scotland's Harmony Garden, where visitors can walk among manicured lawns and scented borders with panoramic views across Melrose Abbey and the Eildon Hills.

The offer is self-catering, but a personal chef and/or catered banquets in Scott's magnificent dining room, can be arranged and quoted upon request. A range of bespoke itineraries, including exclusive access to the gardens, clay pigeon shooting, guided tours, and hot tub hire, may also be arranged and quoted upon request.

Offer is valid May, September, October or November 2022. Dates subject to availability. Harmony Garden tour subject to availability at a mutually agreeable time. Catering and other add-ons are not included.

Generously provided by Abbotsford, Naoma Tate, and the National Trust for Scotland.
