Chocolate Origins and Create with a Maker:

Join Professor Baum, Dean Kelly, and Professor Lazaro to travel all the way to Kingston, Jamaica from the comfort of your home with this virtual AirBnB experience for a group of 8-10 students. Learn the true story of how chocolate becomes the world's favorite sweet, a bittersweet tale of hard work, artisanship, and how business can be a force for good. Your guide will give you a brief history of the island, explain the historical use of cacao, and even take you on a tour to see the cacao pods up close. After the tour you'll be ready to take on the kitchen to make inclusion bars. You'll get step-by-step instructions on how to temper chocolate so you can make your own bespoke bars. A date will be coordinated with the winner to book the virtual experience.
