One of a few true prairie shrubs left in Illinois, found almost exclusively in prairie remnants and open savannas, New Jersey Tea's white flowers brighten the grassy expanses from late June to early August and can really bring in the pollinators. Needs full sun and well-drained soils to get best results in growth. New Jersey Tea can be used as a fine tea, by using the leaves and flowers. Wire protection recommended from rabbits and others for the first year. Mature height and width, 2 x 2 feet, with a max of 4 x 6 feet. Dry to mesic soils, morning sun - full sun, flowers white in summer. Fall color is yellow. Plant will be in a 5 gallon pot.
