Picnic Lunch with Author Jennifer Ackerman

Charlottesville-area resident Jennifer Ackerman has been writing about science, nature, and health for three decades. Through her books, she explains and interprets science for a lay audience and explores humanity's place in the natural world, blending scientific knowledge with imaginative vision.

Her most recent book is The Bird Way: A New Look at How Birds Talk, Work, Play, Parent, and Think. The Bird Way was nominated for numerous awards - it was named a Best Science Book of 2020 by National Public Radio's "Science Friday" -- and has been published in more than a dozen languages.

Jennifer's previous book, The New York Times bestseller The Genius of Birds, has been translated into 25 languages and was named one of the 10 best nonfiction books of 2016 by The Wall Street Journal and a "nature book of the year" by the London Sunday Times.

Here's the ultimate Book Club event. The winning bidder and up to three other guests will join Jennifer for an outdoor picnic-lunch discussion of birds, birding, travel adventures, the life of a science-writer .. and more!
