The House Fund

The Wildlife Center has been in its current location for a quarter century. As is true for any aging building, we need to do some repairs - and some upkeep! We've recently replaced all of the sensor units for our security/fire alarm system, for example ... and the plumbers are trying to figure out if we have some leaking underground pipes.

Your special contribution to the 2021 Gala House Fund will help us meet these ongoing expenses and take on a number of projects, including:

Wasp Repair. This past summer, the Center discovered that it was home to several massive yellowjacket nests, in the ceiling above Ed Clark's office and the adjoining Development Department office. [That warning sign was on the development office door.]

While it's now safe for us to use those offices again, the chewing insects have done a significant amount of damage up above the drop ceilings. We have a repair estimate of about $2,500.

Outreach remodel. With expanding numbers of staff members, the Center is currently hard-pressed to have adequate office/desk space for its employees. We'd like to finish a remodeling of the Outreach area - a project started pre-pandemic. Estimated cost: $4,500.

And we're investigating other ways to better use office space at the Center.

Your contribution - of any size! - to the House Fund will help us raise the funds we need for repairs and remodeling projects at the Center. Thank you!
