Inked: Cartoons, Confessions, Rejected Ideas and Secret Sketches from the New Yorker's Joe Dator. Signed by the author. To be published on October 19. Includes the author's signature ... and an exclusive drawing!

Joe Dator has been a cartoonist for The New Yorker since 2006; his work has also appeared in MAD magazine and Esquire. He is a recipient of the National Cartoonists Society's Silver Reuben Award and has been featured on CBS's 60 Minutes.

Inked is a collection of more than 150 of Dator's cartoons. But Inked also explores the creative process behind these single-panel cartoons -- how one idea leads to another, the drawings that get finalized, the others that end up on the cutting-room floor.

One fellow cartoonist wrote, "I enjoyed this look at how Joe's particular brand of sausage is made, but it didn't do much to quell my deep-seated resentment at just how damn good he is. If I see a gag and hiss, 'I wish I'd thought of that,' chances are pretty good it's one of his. It's enraging."

And Jamie Lee Curtis wrote, "Joe Dator makes me laugh. Everybody looks to look behind the scenes and his new book shows the secrets, inspirations, heartaches, and triumphs of a life in cartoons."

184 pages. 8 x 7.9 inches.
