Uncorking the Cure for MS, Oregon 2021 Honoree
Dr. Stanley L. Cohan
Stanley Cohan, M.D., Ph.D., joined the medical staff of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in 2000 and opened what is now called Providence Multiple Sclerosis Center the following year. The center now cares for more than 4,000 patients from the Northwest and beyond. Dr. Cohan was a principal investigator in the Natalizumab trial and is the initiating, main investigator for BEST (Beta-interferon Early Steroid Trial). He is the founder of The Pacific Northwest Multiple Sclerosis Registry Project and a co-founder of the National African Americans with Multiple Sclerosis Registry
Dr. Cohan earned medical and doctorate degrees at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and completed a residency in neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, and Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He later joined the Georgetown staff and was an investigator in the original, pivotal trial of beta interferon.

We've planned every detail of this event with the health and safety of our attendees, volunteers, and staff as our highest priority. Safety protocols are in place that follow current guidance from the CDC, as well as state, city and other local agencies. This includes mandatory face coverings, regardless of vaccination status, reduced touchpoints to minimize physical interactions, and adhering to capacity limits of the venue.
