About Young Artist Mentoring Program
To Support the next generation of artists, Morris Arts is committed to mentoring today's artistically aspiring youth to help them become tomorrow's successful artists and arts leaders. Our Young Artist Mentoring Program (YAMP) helps exceptionally talented high school students with limited means and support refine their artistic skills and assemble a strong art portfolio enabling them to further their arts education and career aspirations.
Founded in 2004, YAMP is one of Morris Arts' longest running and most successful Arts in Education Programs serving under-served students in need of guidance and mentoring. It's a weekly after school program involving some of Morristown High School's most artistically talented students who need additional mentoring to enhance their ability to compete for admission into quality arts schools, college, a career in visual arts, and/or scholarship aid. Most YAMP participants have limited financial means, limited or no family support, restrictive English language skills, and/or other circumstances denying them a level playing field with their peers.
