Up to 8 of you will visit Thomas Stanton's 1650 trading post site and the Stanton Yard cemetery on the Pawcatuck River. Wine and appetizers will be served overlooking the river and Pawcatuck Rock. Director of the Woolworth Library, Chelsea Mitchell, will share more on the history of the site.

"Pawcatuck Rock is a historically significant landmass in Stonington, CT. In 1649, Thomas Stanton was appointed official Connecticut Indian interpreter with the right to erect a trading house on the Pawcatuck River and a trade monopoly with the indigenous people for three years. Stanton established a trading post at Pawcatuck Rock in 1650."
