About the Chef:

Chef Ron's kitchen chronicles started with his grandmother as a child from homemade biscuits, fresh peach preserves to a Sunday feast. This started the journey of a tremendous passion for food and a love affair with building flavorful dishes. With chef blood running through his veins, he was destined to be a culinarian.

Ron embarked on his adventure and enrolled at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. He received his Le Cordon Bleu culinary arts degree in 2004. One thing Chef Ron always remembered from his culinary instructors was to cook and learn from the best. With that in mind, Ron went to sharpen and hone his skills at the world-famousRitz Carlton hotel in Chicago where he gained experience working in the various outletswithin the kitchen.

He started a personal chef service, Taylored Foods. Several years later, he co-founded Windy City Chefs catering company. After growing his brand in Chicago, Chef Ron ventured to Madison, Wisconsin where he is currently the executive sous chef at the legendary Edgewater hotel.

He is also passionate about his community. He has been a mentor for Link Unlimitedand provided healthy cooking demonstrations for seniors in the Chicagoland area. In addition, he has had the opportunity of gracing the Taste of Chicago cooking stage in 2013 and 2014. Recently, he has volunteered with Madison's Black Chamber of Commerce by helping with the creation of chef talk/popup dining experience. In 2019, Chef Ron was nominated by Destination Madison as a rising star in the hospitality industry. His greatest joy is being a great "girl dad" to his daughter, Sallie. Often, they can be found in the kitchen making pancakes or cookies!

Ron has a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois inUrbana-Champaign. In his spare time, He likes to travel and attend farmers' markets to gather ingredients off the beaten path for his next amazing dish!
