Custom Painting by Sam Zimmerman

In partnership with Nature Valley, Sam Zimmerman / Zhaawanoogiizhik, the 2022 Voyageurs Conversancy artist educator-in-residence who completed the mural of Voyageurs National Park, titled "Giiwedino-Manidoog / Spirits of the North," will be completing a 18" x 24" painting for the winner of this silent auction item.

Sam Zimmerman will be in contact via email after April 29th to schedule a commission session with the winner to plan for the custom completion of this painting celebrating the natural beauty and spirit of the Voyageur National Park.

About Sam Zimmerman: Sam is a Grand Portage direct descendant, is a painter, author, and educator based in Duluth, Minnesota. Zimmerman draws on his Ojibwe heritage to create vibrant images filled with symbolism. His work continues the Anishinaabe tradition of storytelling, with themes of environmental stewardship and conservation through his public art commissions.
