Nurtured in the greenhouse complex on the grounds at Bartram's Garden, we are sure these plants will warm your heart, heighten your senses, or add a dose of color and life to your garden!

A marvelously minty sun combo!

All three of these plants are a part of the mint family. Bee balm was used by the indigenous peoples to treat bee stings and skin infections. The mountain mints can be used for teas.

Monarda didyma - Beebalm

  • Sun - Full sun to part shade
  • Soil - Medium to wet, moisture retentive soils, prefers rich humusy soils

Pycnanthemum muticum - Mountainmint

  • Sun - Full sun to part shade
  • Soil - Medium moisture, well-drained soils

Pycnanthemum tenuifolium - Slenderleaf mountainmint

  • Sun - Full sun to part shade
  • Soil - Average, to dry to medium, well-drained soils
