"The best camera is the one you have with you," but what if that is 'only' your phone. Can this still be true? Can you really depend on it to do justice to the moment or image you want to capture?

The answer is a resounding YES! The camera is just the tool, and this class will help you understand and maximize the features of that tool so you can confidently capture and create great images. Photographer Gretchen Shepard will offer two 2-hour classes held one week apart to show you how.

In Session 1 participants will:

• Learn terminology, features, & settings of the camera in their phone.
• Learn and practice what to control and change on that camera to go from 'fingers crossed shot' to a 'finessed photo'
• Learn and try basic tips of composition and lighting to improve any photo.
• Learn basics of managing your photos: storage, albums, favorites, settings..

Between Session 1 and 2 spend some time practicing and implementing the things learned in Session 1 and keep some notes on the experience.

In Session 2 participants will:

• Have the questions answered that came up during practice time, as well as share some conquests and challenges.
• Participate in a live edit session of favorite practice shots. This will include sharing a step by step walk through on how they edit a shot, as well as some collaborative editing.
• Learn how to take photos to a new level using presets, filters, black & white - things already on phones - that can add style or story to the photo
• Learn how to easily share photos from a phone, from printing to posting & more.
• Learn about extra apps that are free and fun.
