"Marlin Madness" original by Guy Harvey

Harvey discovered his love for art in 1985 when he created pen-and-ink drawings based on Ernest Hemingway's "Old Man and the Sea". Since then, Harvey has become one of the most renowned marine wildlife artists in the world, bringing his unique insight as an artist, scientist, conservationist, diver, and angler to the forefront. Whether through his artistic vision or the educational efforts of his research organizations, Harvey's ultimate goal is to emphasize the importance of conserving marine wildlife and their habitats. This is a 4 foot by 10 foot canvas mural painted to depict sailfish cruising outside bait. It was painted shortly after the commercial t-shirt program was started by the Florida corporation I filed, Guy Harvey, Inc. At that time most of our expeditions were to Flamingo, Costa Rica where we would often see hundreds of sailfish cruising around bait balls. I commissioned this painting for Guy to portray the beauty and magnificence of these animals on their own without the predator-prey interaction.
