Megan Deveney, 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Megan began practicing yoga in 2003 to counter anxiety and work-related stress. She quickly learned that she enjoyed both the physical and mental aspects of yoga. Megan continued her practice sporadically, including through two pregnancies, until she began to incorporate it into her regular fitness routine in 2016. The physical postures and their benefits drew her back to the mat. As a busy mom of two who worked out regularly, Megan happily found that the physical practice soothed her muscles and enhanced her mood, but she also found a stillness that she had forgotten existed. The spiritual aspects of yoga left her wanting to know more about the overall practice and eventually led her to look toward a teaching certification. In 2020, Megan safely embarked on her journey to obtain her 200-RYT certification through Downtown Yoga/YogaWorks in Westminster, MD under the guidance of Michelle Allen. Megan currently teaches yoga at Gold's Gym in Eldersburg, MD, and will be launching zoom classes this spring. She enjoys teaching a vinyasa style flow class with props that are accessible to everyone. She believes yoga is for "every body", and you do not need to be flexible or strong to be a yogi. You just need to show up to your mat and breathe.
"Stepping onto my mat has allowed me to grow into a better version of myself both mentally and physically. I am always learning more about yoga, and as a result, I continue to learn more about myself. I am excited to share this practice with you." - Megan
