Fort Hall Bottoms
Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Waterfowl and Pheasant Hunting Permit
Permit 1 of 2
The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes is providing a Season Hunting Permit that will permit one lucky individual to hunt for both Waterfowl and Pheasants within the Fort Hall Bottoms area located on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. The Fort Hall Bottoms includes pristine floodplain habitat and is one of the largest intact wetlands in the state of Idaho. It easily provides the best waterfowl and pheasant hunting in the region! The Fort Hall Bottoms is a historical area and part of the Oregon Trail.
Bottoms is home to a variety of wildlife, including the Tribes buffalo herd, wild horses, big game, and a variety of native birds. The Bottoms is located adjacent to the American Falls Reservoir and is part of the Snake River migration corridor of the Pacific Flyway and attracts thousands of ducks and geese throughout the fall and early winter.
With this permit, the lucky individual will be permitted to hunt pheasants from October 2 - December 15, 2021; the waterfowl season runs from October 2, 2021 - January 17, 2022. The winner must post a refundable $200 bond and a non-refundable $75 habitat fee and must keep a copy of the Permit with you at all times (this proves you have access to hunting/fishing on the Reservation). Please contact the Tribes Fish and Wildlife Department and speak to Relda Wolfchild at 208-478-3808.
