Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
Founded in 1965, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection of more than 142,000 objects that illuminate 6,000 years of artistic expression across the globe. Interpreting works of art from new and unexpected points of view, LACMA curates exhibits informed by our region's rich cultural heritage and diverse population. LACMA's spirit of experimentation is reflected in its collaborations with artists, technologists, and thought leaders in Southern California and around the world.
The theme of our tree is "LACMA: Membership Means Belonging." It's decorative elements are inspired by Chris Burden's Urban Light-one of the most iconic artworks in the LACMA collection and a symbol of Los Angeles. Each of the artwork's 202 lamp posts once stood somewhere in Southern California, including Orange County. Free and open to the public every day and night, Urban Light is a gathering place where everyone belongs. LACMA Membership is also a gathering of many, where a love of art and the values of community are entwined. Through the support of members, LACMA is able to present inspiring exhibitions and educational programs to millions each year.
The winning bidder also receives a LACMA Membership for two ($130 value), including a year of free entry to the museum, invitations to exclusive digital events, discounts at the LACMA Store, and more. Keep for yourself or give to someone you love. LACMA Membership is the perfect gift.
