Brother Timothy Diener (1910-2004), a renowned winemaker in Napa Valley for many years, worked under the Christian Brothers brand to produce fine wines for the benefit of students attending Lasallian Christian Brothers Schools in the western region.
Today, Brother Timothy's legacy lives on in the Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay vintages produced in his honor by Hess Collection Winery and donated to the Lasallian Christian Brothers Foundation. These wines are not available anywhere but at Lasallian schools.
Just as Brother Timothy believed in his mission as a Christian Brother and science teacher, so did he pour his heart and soul into finely crafting the best wines. For Brother Timothy, there was never a conflict between making the wine and pursuing an educational mission. He once stated: "What I say is that a little wine in moderation seems to have been good for me."
