Exclusive for Red Cross Auction participants before its first Public Release in April: Two 750ml bottles of the 2019 The Lords Reserve - Carter Family Wines Cabernet Sauvignon, and a one hour visit to their urban winery, including a barrel tasting with the winemakers.

The winery, located in Greenville and not open to the public, produces hand-crafted wines from coveted California vineyards only available through their wine club. The 2019 Lords Reserve is their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon with grapes sourced from the Barr Estate Vineyard in Paso Robles. At harvest, the grapes are hand picked and carefully trucked (refrigerated) to the winery where they are sorted, destemmed, crushed, fermented, pressed, and aged in 100% new Tonnellerie French Oak. The grapes are cold soaked prior to fermentation, which gives the Cabs a greater degree of complexity with a fruit-forward, brighter floral aroma, and flavor composition.

Fun fact: The Lords Proprietors were eight Englishmen selected by King Charles II to settle the colonies of the Carolinas. The family crest of each Lords Proprietors is prominently featured on the red blend label and were designed by South Carolina graphic artist Marco Suarez.
