PRESENTED BY NEA-RETIRED:

This decorative throw pillow has the Cup of Gold flower pattern in dark chocolate brown on a light beige backing. This pillow is done in the "shadow quilting" style, handmade and sewn one stitch at a time by Jean Dobashi from the island of Kauai.

Jean was taught by a super talented quilter who made king and queen bed quilts for several famous celebrities, who came to Kauai in search of Annie Andrade. Annie demanded that Jean learn because it is a tradition and art that will soon be lost unless it is given from one person to the next. Respecting her elders, Jean taught adult evening classes in Lihue and offered it as an elective art course for several years at Koloa School to intermediate students.

High numbers of pillows + couch naps = infinite cozy. That's just simple MATH.
Place this piece of Hawaiian Art right in your living room. Bring Hawaii home to you!
