Dogthenticity of Pawprints

It has been a long and arduous journey for the 2-year-old Mastiff mix, Erin. She was born in the brutal Korean dog meat market trade and faced a lifetime of forced breeding. She was rescued from that life and arrived at the SPCA Cincinnati on October 23, 2020, along with 22 other dogs. Once rescued, she was flown to the United States by the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society International.

Though Erin is now in the loving and caring hands of the SPCA Cincinnati, she still has a long way to go. Due to the squalid living conditions she endured in Korea, Erin received extensive medical treatments and workups when she arrived here. More importantly, Erin has to work through the trauma of confinement and learn how to be a dog. She never felt the freedom of running in a yard with grass under her feet or knowing that human touch is acceptable and rewarding until she came to the SPCA Cincinnati.

Despite all of these hardships, Erin did not lose her love for life. Her pawprints represent hope for the remaining animals on the farms in Korea. This is Erin's Dogthenticity of life.

PLEASE NOTE: The images of Erin are her before (her time in Korea) and after (since she has been with the SPCA)
