This basket is in loving memory of my mother, Domenica "Michelina" Picone, affectionately known as Mickey.

Mickey was a loving, kind, caring an gentle person whose greatest love was caring for her family. She was a selfless person always putting the need of others first.

I was blessed to have her as my mother as she not only raised me and my siblings but she helped raise my children. And because of her day to day involvement in my children's life, we share so many memories of her as we each grew up with her love and guidance.

My mother was a strong, brave and courageous person who fought many illnesses in her short life. But even in her hardest days, she always offered peace and comfort to others letting them know all would be okay.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. To this day I still try to rival her cooking and baking as all my Italian meals, cakes and cookies are often compared to hers.

Every Sunday was dinner at Nonni's; i can still hear her say Tutti a tavola per mangiare.

Let us enjoy the little things in life for one day we'll look back and realize they were the big things.
