In memory of Robert Warholic (aka Uncle Bob)

Uncle Bob was a kind and generous person who had an incredible sense of wit, dry humor, and sarcasm. After serving in the Army, Uncle Bob made his home in New York City and later retired to upstate NY settling into what he called "the quieter life". A devoted son, brother, and uncle, he made sure to be home for the holidays putting a big smile on everyone's faces and putting lots of laughter in the air. He always came bearing gifts from the city or the "North Country" or wherever his recent travels took him. Sadly there was an open chair at the dinner table during the 2019 holiday season as we lost Uncle Bob to complications from kidney cancer on October 1 of that year.

From the time we got in the car to pick Uncle Bob up from the Bridgeport train station the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, chatter would start trying to guess what Uncle Bob would surprise us with for Thanksgiving as he never came empty handed. Not letting on what was in his bags, he would place the items in the trunk telling us to close our eyes, no peaking. Once home with the whole family, he would share the treasures he brought home - food, wine, glassware for toasting, candles, and candy for the little ones. He also would give the ladies of the family envelopes with a little something in it for our shopping adventures on Black Friday if we promised to let him sleep in.

Consider bidding on this basket to surprise the person who is going to make your Thanksgiving special!

The basket, which is a gift within itself, contains the following:

  • 4 Thanksgiving themed wine glasses with cloth napkins and Lindt chocolates - each glass has different color inscription so you know whose glass is whose, with "Happy Thanksgiving" on one side and a theme word on the other side (family, grateful, blessed, thankful)
  • A bottle of wine from the North Country - Adirondack Winery's Drink Pink Berry Breeze Wine; we loved our time in Lake George with Uncle Bob
  • A variety of Thanksgiving themed items - 3 disposable Martha Stewart platters, paper plates, paper dinner napkins, paper cocktail napkins to make for a festive table setup
  • Dip mixes with Thanksgiving themed paper snack cups - good for individualized setups of chips/dips, appetizers, or desserts
  • Holiday Joy 3 wick candle - the scent of Christmas in a candle; upon departing after Thanksgiving, Uncle Bob reminded us that before the holiday candles were even half way burned down, he would be back for Christmas
  • Small cutting board and knife - perfect for cheese and crackers which Uncle Bob loved
  • $75 Mastercard gift card - a little something for your Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday shopping
