The House is a not for profit coffee shop, re-investing profits into our community and specifically focusing on youth in Ogden.

We are a coffee shop. And we pride ourselves on being a high quality one. We also sell boba tea, and have a bakery where everything is made from scratch. But we are more than a business. After working with teens in Ogden, KS for five years we were led to start this business to confront trends we witnessed in our local youth. Poverty, drugs, jail, teen pregnancy, suicide... and more. We have seen more than we ever expected to. But he question was simple, "What does God want us to do about it?"
Teens volunteer here, they start at "Front of House" and do every thankless job, sweeping floors, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms. But the purpose is that they learn to be faithful in the little things in life. By working hard they can be promoted to dishes, then cash register and making bubble tea's, and then to a barista. The last stage is a paid internship where we help them build resume's, practice mock job interviews, learn how to build a budget, and more. By the end of this process they have several hundred volunteer hours, an internship, and a quality resume. They have also had countless conversations with the adults who are here to help guide them through life's challenges. Some teens have cried here, some have just shared conversations about their life. Some have moved away and still check in to see how we are.
The profits we make go to the paid internships, college scholarships, funding teen center activities, and more. Everything we are doing here is designed to show the kids in our community how to reach their full potential. They are challenged, confronted, and held to a high standard. But they are also encouraged, equipped, and leave here with the tools and capability to achieve their goals, whatever those may be.
Coming here for coffee, tea, or a piece of home-made apple pie helps us accomplish this. It provides the money to fund game nights, to buy them gaming tables and new games for the teen center. It funds college scholarships. It pays for the lumber we use during our woodworking shops with students. It pays for internet so they can come to the teen center and do their homework after school. By bringing your business here, you allow us to better equip our kids with a chance to break out from the environment around them.
