1990 Domaine Robert Chevillon Les Saint-Georges

Appellation Nuits-Saaint-George
Produit de France

Domaine Robert Chevillon is a producer of high-end Pinot Noir wines in the Burgundy commune of Nuit-Saint-Georges. The domaine's history dates back to the turn of the 20th century, when Symphorien Chevillon tended vineyards in his own name. The property was passed down through the Chevillon family and grew to its present size of roughly 13 hectares (32 acres). Several plots owned by Robert Chevillon were in vineyards that were upgraded to premier cru, which had an impact on the success of the domaine's wines. Robert Chevillon was the first to bottle wines at the domaine instead of selling to négociants, and ran the estate until he retired in 2003 and passed it on to his sons. Chevillon has parcels in eight premier cru sites in Nuit-Saint-Georges. The domaine is known for having older vines in three of its premier cru vineyards, Les Cailles, Les Vaucrains and Les Saint-Georges, some more than 75 years old.
