William (Bill) Franzin, AFS Past President, and Sharon Williams Franzin will deliver (free of charge to the bidder) one numbered copy (first edition, of 2,000) of our first book, A Day on Crocus Hill with Sweetgrass, hand-signed by Firmin Michiels and Sharon Williams Franzin. It is a hardcover book, profusely illustrated with high-quality color photographs of prairie wildflowers. The edition was published in 2004 and has sold out.

They will include a signed, numbered copy (early edition, of 100) of our second book, Hiking Alone on Nahanni Plateau, published in 2017 to commemorate Canada's 150th birthday and celebrate our colleague Firmin Michiels' sudden death in 2008. This book is also well illustrated with photographs of flowers and the landscapes of the remote Nahanni Plateau. Firmin Michiels was dropped off for 18 days of solitary camping and hiking on the plateau in 1994. We were able to reconstruct his experience from his comments while living and from his personal notes and photographs when we completed the book years after his death.

For more information, please see accompanying images of the front and back covers of the first book and of the dust jacket of the second book.
