Up for auction is a visit to the SMSU Planetarium for a group of any size up to a maximum of 65 visitors. The SMSU Planetarium has undergone several major upgrades over the past few years making it one of the finest and fully-equipped planetariums in the upper Midwest! Due to COVID-19, this auction item does not expire, so feel free to hold on to it for a later date when gathering restrictions are lifted. Not only is the equipment in the planetarium modern and state of the art, the amazing visual content has expanded allowing many options to customize your viewing/learning experience. Show lengths run 60 minutes and can be targeted for any age group. The winner of this item can coordinate directly with the planetarium director to pick dates/times to work into your schedule.

There are two primary options:

1. A star show covering amazing Astronomical topics including: Stars, Constellations, Planets, The Solar System, Asteroids, Meteors, Comets, Impact Events In Earth's History, The Search For Exoplanets, Galaxies, Black Holes, Cosmology Of The Universe, The Search For Dark Matter/Dark Energy, The History of the Space Program, Landing On The Moon, Space Aliens, Myths and Misconceptions in Astronomy, Eclipses, History Of The Universe

2. A Laser Light shows at the planetarium have expanded to 3 separate laser systems that fill the entire dome with mesmerizing fast-paced imagery. The room will be fogged to enhance the laser beam effects. Shows can feature just about any genre of music and range from young children songs to popular tunes heard on the radio to seasonal shows including Patriotic, Halloween or Holiday music. Most people prefer the classic rock shows. We have full length shows including: Laser Queen, Laser Prince, Laser Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon, Pink Floyd The Wall, The Beatles Greatest Hits, The Beatles Abbey Road, Metallica, U2, Laser Country, Green Day, Patriotic, Rush, Mannheim Steamroller, Transiberian Orchestra, Hits From 1969.
