Artist Statement:
My artwork is an exploration of human emotions, chaos, rotations, growth, and healing. I use oil paint, acrylic, ink and watercolor to create veils of color that are often combined with alternative mediums such as silver leaf added to create atmospheric effects that are then further defined with fine lines. Sculptural elements, such as assemblage, ceramics, or cold casting are sometimes used as the mediums of choice to convey concepts. Representational forms of faces, figures, plants, and animals become clear. Circular orbs are repeated in the work, representing points of meditation, punctuation, rest, seed pods, embryos, cycles, and cells. These circular shifting symbols are pathways of discovery through both a microcosmic and macro-cosmic landscape of consciousness.

Representations of transforming energy unifying emotional states become poetic puzzle pieces in the pieces. My work balances the chaotic forces of existence in human nature. Every piece created is a portrait of emotion, perception and a journey to experience on personal levels while also reflecting global concepts.

I create works on paper, paintings on canvas & wood panels, ceramics, and bas-relief sculptures. For over 20 years I have been continuing to execute and define my visual language to articulate complex issues of depth and perception to the world.
