This wooden panel is from Rwanda and represents farmers engaged in banana production, vegetable gardening and potato farming. The panel is hand-carved and the type of wood may be mahogany. It's very dramatic and the faces of the figures are quite expressive. This shows a man and woman facing each other beneath banana leaves and a young boy bending down in front of them, gardening in the soil.
Dimensions: 9 3/4 inches wide x 42 1/4" high.
