This wooden panel is from Rwanda and represents farmers engaged in banana production. The panel is hand-carved and the type of wood may be mahogany. It's very dramatic and the faces of the figures are quite expressive. This shows a man reaching up to cut bananas from a tree with a boy sitting below him. The height is 36 1/2 inches and width is 9 inches.
