The quilt is donated by Dianne Anderson from Trinity Lutheran Church of Hovland.

The person who made this quilt was a friend of mine, Lois Greenwalt from Duluth. She always made beautiful quilts and hand-knit sweaters and gave them away. I received this quilt from Lois about 25 years ago, but have never used it. Why? I don't know--perhaps it's because I have other quilts that I use. Maybe it's because I'm one of those people who SAVE for a rainy day; well, that rainy day has come! I can think of no better honor for Lois's quilt than to donate it for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.

The quilt measures a bit shy of 80"X90"--more like 79.5+ X 89.5+

The fabric is a mix of cotton and polyester; the backing is cotton.

The batting is a cotton/poly blend.

The design is a strip design; Lois cut the strips herself.

The strips have been machine sewn, but the quilting is hand stitched.

There is a close-up picture of what appears to be an imperfection in the white fabric of one square; the quilt has never been used.

Care instructions--hand or machine wash (gentle cycle, warm).
